Summary

Polaris 2.0 release candidate adds the new Shopify admin visual style to embedded App Home interfaces, automatically matching each store’s design (new or old) and defaulting to the new style outside the admin.
Adoption is explicit via polaris-2.0-rc.js; existing polaris-1.js or legacy URLs won’t upgrade automatically, and Built for Shopify apps must update by May 1 2027.
Admin UI and App Home UI extensions update automatically; apps using Polaris React should follow the migration guide to Polaris Web Components and update the CDN URL.
